Fatal Frame Sequel Heading to the Wii U

A Fatal Frame movie, comic and novel are also planned.

A new installment in the Japanese survival horror series Fatal Frame - aka Project Zero if you live in Europe or simply Zero if you live in Japan - is heading to the Wii U.

Famitsu (via a translation by Gematsu) has reported that Tecmo Koei and Nintendo are working together to bring the game to the console, but a release date and title have yet to be detailed. Alongside the project, Temco Koei has plans to expand the Fatal Frame universe through a series of "new multimedia" ventures, including a live action film helmed by Bilocation director Mari Asato, a novel from The Kurosagi Corpse Delivery Service's  Eiji Otsuka, and a comic from Kindaichi Case Files writer Shin Kibayashi (better known by his pen name, Tadashi Agi.)

Mio and Mayu Amakura from Project Zero 2: Wii Edition.

The Wii U and its GamePad are a great fit considering Fatal Frame's protagonists rely on cameras to avoid things that go bump in the night, but the series' track record offers no certainty that we'll see the next game distributed outside Japan. We'll update you with more news as it comes.
