The published Joonie HFW 4.86.1 is exactly the same as OFW 4.86 but with a modification of the web browser making it vulnerable to exploits used to hack your console.

This means that all PlayStation 3 consoles are still pirable because the current firmware is still vulnerable to current exploits!

However, if you can get away with spoofing your firmware version and staying on older firmware, you should probably do it at the moment as some utilities or homebrews may not work properly as offsets may need to be update.

    Notice
    Be sure to save the update data as noted below. If the data is not saved in the correct way, the PS3™ system will not recognize the update data. The folder name must be in all uppercase letters.

  • Location: Save in the “PS3” folder > “UPDATE” folder
  • File name: Save as file name “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.

    As of now I am on 4.84 HFW, I just downloaded the 4.86 HFW, when is the best time for me to update it? Since I can't access PSN or anything as of now
