Nintendo Addresses NINJHAX Exploit in Software Version 9.3

"Nintendo were likely to try and patch it out as soon as they can".

has disabled the ability to run homebrew software on the 3DS.

Whilst it was originally thought that the exploit had been missed in the recent roll-out of software version 9.3, homebrew developer Jordan "Smea" Rabet reported a few days ago that his loader is now defunct.

"9.3 is live apparently. If you want to keep using ninjhax, do not update," warned the developer via Twitter, before later adding: "one of the later stage exploits we use has been patched. So, again, DO NOT UPDATE TO 9.3 FOR NINJHAX."

Rabat had defended the loader by insisting that it had been developed to encourage developers and not merely as a tool for piracy. But in an interview with Eurogamer earlier last month, he conceded that Nintendo were likely to "try and patch it out as soon as they can".
