War Thunder Coming to Nvidia's Shield Tablet

Soon you'll have the option of playing the MMO on the go.

Gaijin Entertainment has announced that its MMO War Thunder is coming to Nvidia's new Tegra K1-powered Shield tablet.

Shield gamers can now join the fray with War Thunder players on PC, Mac, Linux, and PS4. They can take War Thunder with them on the go thanks to a specially created control scheme for touchscreen, or connect their Shield to the TV via a HDMI port so they can play with the Shield's wireless controller.

According to Gaijin's creative director Kirill Yudintsev, War Thunder on the Shield provides players "cross platform play across the widest variety of home platforms, mobile devices and VR headsets – more than any other game in the industry."

The press release claims that the new Shield tablet - which we went hands-on with earlier today - is the first Android-based device that can run War Thunder "in parity" with PC and video game consoles.

No firm launch date for War Thunder on Nvidia Shield has been announced, but Gaijin says that it will remain free-to-play.

The Shield Tablet is equipped with an 8-inch 1920x1200 display, a 2.2Ghz quad-core A15 CPU, 2GB of RAM, and Nvidia's Tegra K1 mobile processor.
