While you still can't get a PS Vita TV outside of Japan, here's a look at what's under the hood.
The PS Vita TV is capable of playing PS Vita cartridges, PSN games, and (at some point) content streamed from the PlayStation 4. Unfortunately, there's no word on when the little device might be available outside of Japan.
Apparently, and perhaps unsurprisingly, many of the internals of the PS Vita TV are similar to what's on the board in a first-gen PS Vita (PCH-1000), while offering the lighter weight and aesthetic of the second-gen PS Vita (PCH-2000). The PS Vita TV contains chips manufactured by Samsung, Realtek, and Fujitsu.
Weighing just 110 grams, the PS Vita TV includes the same quad-core Cortex A9 CPU and PowerVR SGX543MP4+ GPU found in both models of PS Vita.
